Workplace wellbeing services

THE KMA TEAM ARE PROFESSIONAL, HIGHLY EXPERIENCED, FRIENDLY AND CARING. WE’RE HERE TO HELP IN ANY WAY WE CAN WHEN IT COMES TO WORKPLACE WELLBEING. 

ERGONOMIC FLOOR WALKS (Up to a maximum of 30 mini assessments per day)

These comprise of 10-minute mini DSE workstation assessments, the purpose of which is to:

  • Make small postural corrections and adjust any equipment which may be sub-optimal and which may predispose to musculoskeletal injury
  • Highlight the need for further assessment/equipment provisions which will help with workplace wellbeing

LUNCH AND LEARN PRESENTATIONS                                                                              

These are short presentations to be offered during the lunchbreak in which employees can eat their lunch whilst learning. These presentations will include a variety of topics related to promoting wellness at work such as:

  • The use of Display Screen Equipment including laptop use, excessive mouse use, hot desk advice, home working and equipment adjustment
  • Travel advice – driving and travelling to/from or during work
  • Emotional wellbeing/resilience i.e. managing stress in the workplace, introduction to mindfulness, building emotional resilience and relaxation

There will also be a Question and Answer session at the end of the presentation.

MUSCULOSKELETAL MOT DAY                                                                                        

Company employees will be encouraged to visit an information stand prominently situated in the foyer or reception area where they will receive:

  • Mini Musculoskeletal assessments with an emphasis on wellbeing
  • Question and Answer Sessions;
  • Access to ‘rapid MSK assessment’ to assess any injuries or ongoing musculoskeletal issues they are experiencing.

VISUAL GUIDES                                                                                           

Development of bespoke musculoskeletal injury prevention and wellbeing advice sheets focussing on prevention management for circulation throughout the business. These will be tailored to your individual business risks identified through job analysis. These guides will provide staff with a greater awareness of how their work habits may impact their musculoskeletal health and emotional resilience thus improving their workplace wellbeing and reducing sickness absence by preventing the risk of future musculoskeletal accident or injury.

Posture Prompts – Ergonomic Workstation

  • Correct posture to adopt at the workstation
  • How to adjust key pieces of equipment (i.e. optimum desk and chair height etc)
  • A visual reminder particularly useful at hot desks

Gentle Stretching and Mobilisation                                                  

  • Detailed exercises to be completed at workstation
  • Maintenance of muscles and joints whilst sitting for prolonged periods
  • Aids comfort and circulation
  • Prevention of musculoskeletal injuries

Break Reminder

  • Optimum time spent on work based activities
  • Correct positioning and rest breaks in order to improve health and wellbeing at the workstation.
  • Benefits of healthy working i.e. increased productivity

Wellbeing Reminder

  • Approaches that will optimise workplace wellbeing
  • Checklist of daily tasks to increase wellbeing
  • Wellbeing/relaxation strategies to be utilised in the workplace

WORKPLACE RESILIENCE/ STRESS MANAGEMENT TRAINING                                                                                                                                       

  • Strategies/tools to promote health and workplace wellbeing
  • Interactive practical sessions
  • Assertiveness training

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING                                                                                                              

  • Increasing awareness of signs and symptoms of mental health conditions
  • Wellbeing strategies that can be utilised within the workplace

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

  • Raises awareness and mental health literacy
  • Reduces stigma around mental ill health
  • Boosts knowledge and confidence in dealing with mental health issues
  • Promotes early intervention which enables recovery

CONFLICT RESOLUTION                                                                                                                                         

  • Early warning signs
  • De-escalation strategies
  • Addressing differences

CONFIDENCE BUILDING/ASSERTIVENESS TRAINING

  • Increasing awareness of behaviour styles and their impact on others
  • Strategies to increase confidence and assertion in the workplace

RELAXATION WORKSHOPS                                                                                                                                       

  • Introduction to methods of relaxation, their function and purpose
  • Strategies to reduce stress and increase emotional wellbeing in the workplace and at home
