‘An honour to be back delivering another course’
Mental health first aid courses
One of the services we provide at KMA is adult mental health first aid training. We can deliver this training to organisations; groups and we also hold courses for individuals too. Usually these courses are half day, one-day or two-days long.
We not only offer the internationally recognised Mental Health First Aid England course, but we can also provide bespoke courses tailored to the specific needs of the participants. If you would like to know more about these courses and their content please get in touch via email firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call on 01264326308.
Last week, our mental health first aid trainers, and dual trained occupational therapists – Kate and Shelley, retuned to the offices of an international construction company (having previously taught a course there last year) and delivered another 2-day adult course after having fantastic feedback from the last. Kate and Shelley were honoured to be back and had a fantastic few days with a lovely group of employees.
Kate said, ‘it was an absolute honour and delight to be back, delivering another course.’
Take a look at some of the feedback Kate and Shelley received:
“I learned a lot from this course and feel much more confident in approaching someone with mental ill health”
“I really enjoyed this course, thank you to Kate and Shelley”
“It was an extremely informative course, the instructors (Kate and Shelley) were brilliant at making us feel completely at ease, providing everyday examples and explaining any questions that arose. Well done ladies”
“The course was facilitated brilliantly and was very informative”
“The course was very informative and really well delivered by the instructors, there was also a positive atmosphere throughout”
“Great course with a good mix of slides, exercises and interaction”
“Excellent balance between slides, group exercises, clips and case studies which really helped to maximise understanding”
Why be mental health aware?
As an organisation/employer being mental health aware displays your recognition of the importance of employee wellbeing, not only in the workplace but in all aspects of their life. It can increase morale, teamwork and communication, lessen absenteeism, lower staff turnover and in turn lower recruitment and training costs.
Did you know?
- In the UK mental ill health costs employers over £30 billion every year through lack of productivity and staff absence.
- In the UK, 1 in 4 people will experience some form of mental ill health issue in any given year.
- Ill mental health is estimated to cost the UK economy over £100 billion each year.
Why should you hold a course?
By holding mental health first aid courses at your organisation, you are encouraging a friendly work environment, you are encouraging the destigmatising of the taboo which surrounds mental health and you are encouraging people to open up difficult conversations – something that could potentially save a life.
